Text of the message:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. On the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha, I extend my warmest congratulations and blessings to Muslims in Kurdistan, Iraq, and across the world. I also extend special congratulations to the families of the heroic martyrs, the brave Peshmerga forces, and all the dear citizens of Kurdistan.
On this blessed occasion, I pray to Almighty God to bestow goodness, happiness, and reassurance upon the people of Kurdistan and the entire world. At this sensitive and decisive juncture, my message to the parties and political forces in Kurdistan is that everyone should think of the interests of the people of Kurdistan, place the supreme interests of our people above narrow goals and interests, and put an end to the futile conflict and internal erosion that have burdened the political process in the Region for some time.
I call on political forces in the Region to meet after Eid al-Adha, in a sincere and patriotic spirit, to address the political deadlock and end the current tense political climate. This is a moral, national, and patriotic duty, and all parties must deal with it responsibly and return to the right path.
I hope this Eid will mark the beginning of improved conditions in the Kurdistan Region, the overcoming of political obstacles, and the consolidation of peace, security, and stability in our region and throughout the world. Blessed Eid to you all, and may you remain in happiness and good health. Masoud Barzani May 26, 2026
