Lavrov, warning the West: We deal with acts of economic aggression with restraint, but our patience has limits
ARK News… Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned, "those who speak with Russia in the language of sanctions" that Moscow's patience in the face of acts of economic aggression "is not without limits."
Lavrov said in an interview with the Russian newspaper "Argument and Fact" published on Saturday: "We have all possibilities to protect our national interests. If necessary, we will use them to the fullest extent. Those who speak the language of sanctions with Russia should remember that while we show restraint in response to acts of economic aggression, our patience will not be limitless."
He added, "The disintegration of the Russian economy, as dreamed of by (former US President) Barack Obama, has not and will not be achieved."
The Russian minister continued: "Everything they wanted to provoke in our country begins to appear in their own backyard. A number of European countries are witnessing a sharp rise in prices, a decrease in incomes, and a shortage of energy resources ... The usual benefits of civilization are turning into a privilege for Europeans. This is the price that ordinary citizens pay for the Russian phobia of their politicians.”
Here are the highlights of Lavrov's statements:
Breaking the vicious circle in relations with the United States is possible, but the American elites think irrationally and push the White House to open a confrontation with Russia.
Comprehension of the fact that there is a new balance of power in the world is painful for the United States, but it is time for them to start dealing with reality.
The question of the compatibility of referendums in Donbas, Kherson, and Zaporozhe with the Constitution of Ukraine does not affect its eligibility under international law.
Kyiv has proven that it does not represent the interests of the residents of the Donbas, Zaporozhe, and Kherson regions.
