Muhammad Ali Ibrahim: The 2004 uprising was the first spark of the revolution against the Syrian regime
ARK News... Domiz Organization of the Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria, on Friday, March 11, 2022, commemorated the eighteenth anniversary of the glorious uprising of March 12, 2004, in Qamishlo.
In the presence of a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, Domiz Organization official Muhammad Ali Ibrahim, and with the participation of hundreds of Domiz camp refugees, a commemoration ceremony took place by standing for five minutes of silence and playing the anthem of ay Raqib, in honor of the souls of the martyrs of the Qamishlo uprising in 2004.
Then Muhammad Ali Ibrahim gave a brief speech in which he talked about the 2004 uprising that took place in Qamishlo Stadium during the match between the Jihad and Al-Fituwa team coming from Deir Ez Zour and how the Fituwa fans brought stones and sticks to the stands and launched racist slogans against the Kurdish people and its symbols and turned the match into a battlefield with the complicity the Syrian regime and its participation in the attack that led to the death of a number of children and the Kurdish masses. The next day, the Kurdish people in Qamishlo rose up and went out in massive demonstrations. Still, they were met with violence on the orders of the former governor of Hasaka, Salim Kabol, who released the hand of the security forces, who began firing live bullets at the demonstrators. As a result, dozens of our Kurdish people fell between a martyr and a wounded person.
Muhammad Ali also stressed that the 2004 uprising was the first spark of the revolution against the Baath regime, which introduced fear and panic among its ranks.
In conclusion, the leader, Muhammad Ali, stressed that they would remain loyal to the martyrs of the Qamishlo uprising. Their memory will remain in our hearts and minds because they are the torch that illuminates our path towards freedom and independence.
