Secretary of Kurdistan Democratic Party–Syria Visits Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party Office
ARK News.. Mohammed Ismail, secretary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party–Syria and president of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, visited the office of the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party in Syria in Qamishlo on Monday, August 31, 2026, accompanied by a delegation from the Party’s leadership.
The visit was aimed at checking on the health of Dr. Salah Darwish and wishing him continued health and well-being.
The two sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in Syria and the wider region, as well as political developments and the challenges facing the Kurdish community.
The meeting addressed the current political phase in Syria, including the Kurdish National Council’s position on recent political developments and ways of addressing them in line with the transitional phase, while safeguarding the legitimate rights and demands of the Kurdish people within Syria’s future.
The two sides stressed the importance of maintaining communication and dialogue among Kurdish political parties and forces, saying that this would contribute to strengthening a unified Kurdish position, addressing current political challenges and supporting efforts toward a political solution that guarantees the rights of all components of Syrian society.
