Biden: I will make America respectable in the world again

Nov 09 2020

ARK News… Democrat Joe Biden announced early Sunday morning the win of the US presidential race after a bitter campaign and five days between elections and the counting of results in the 50 states and pledged to work to unify a country that is deeply polarized, despite Republican President Donald Trump's refusal to acknowledge defeat.

"The people of this nation have spoken. They have given us a clear victory and a convincing victory," Biden told his supporters in his victory speech in a parking garage in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware.

Biden added, after thanking the Americans for "victory" in the American elections, "I pledge to be a president who seeks unity, not division."

The president-elect pledged to "make America respectable in the world again," a slogan somewhat similar to the slogan Trump presented in his 2016 election campaign, to make America "a great nation again."

Then he addressed Trump’s supporters directly, saying, "Now, let's give each other a chance. It is time to put the harsh rhetoric aside, calm the anger, see each other again, and listen to each other again."

He pledged to be "a president who gathers together and does not divide," adding, "It's time to heal America," calling on Americans to stop treating "their opponents as enemies."

Biden announced that from Monday he will form a crisis cell to confront Covid-19.
