KDP Prepares to Launch Round of Talks with Political Parties in the Kurdistan Region
ARK News.. The negotiating delegation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has completed all political and technical preparations to begin a broad round of meetings with political parties and forces across the Kurdistan Region this week, aiming to break the current political deadlock, normalize the situation in the Region, and stimulate economic activity and citizens’ living conditions.
According to Kurdistan24, a member of the KDP Central Committee revealed that a high-level committee has been established to implement the political initiative launched by President Masoud Barzani. The committee includes several prominent members of the party’s Political Bureau, namely Hoshyar Zebari, Erbil KDP Organizing Bureau Head Pishtiwan Sadiq, and the party’s official spokesperson Mahmoud Mohammed.
The source explained that the initiative has received broad support and positive reactions from the majority of political parties and components, many of which have expressed their immediate willingness to engage in dialogue.
The Central Committee member noted that the KDP is seeking broad and inclusive participation, adding that the party is currently awaiting final responses from a small number of remaining parties before setting the official date for the launch of the meetings.
According to the official agenda, the objectives of the talks extend beyond the traditional issues of reactivating the Kurdistan Parliament and forming a new government. The primary goal is to establish a strategic national consensus and unify the visions and positions of the Kurdistan Region’s political forces in order to address the current challenges facing the Region.
The initiative comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen political stability, enhance cooperation among Kurdish parties, and create a common framework for addressing political, economic, and institutional challenges in the Kurdistan Region.
