Former UN Chief Kofi Annan Dies at 80

ARK News: Former secretary general of the United Nation, Kofi Annan, has died at the age of 80, his family and international diplomats confirmed.
Annan, who was the first black African to take up the role as UN chief, died after a short period of illness.
He had won the Nobel Peace Prize for humanitarian work.
The Ghanaian diplomat was the seventh secretary-general of the UN who served for two terms between 1997 and 2006.
Annan's tenure coincided with the Iraq War and the HIV/Aids pandemic.
