Kamiran Hajo speaks to ARK about the meetings of the Constitutional Committee

ARK News: A member of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, Kamiran Hajo, told ARK News about the meetings of the Syrian Constitutional Committee that started on October 30, noting that these meetings, despite some difficulties, were held normally.

In an exclusive interview with ARK News about the meetings of the Constitutional Committee, Hajo added that the meeting held yesterday, "was an open session in which each party expressed its vision of the Constitution, and the Kurdish National Council also had a speech at this meeting, in which we wanted to convey the voice of our people to those who will write the constitution, and there was no direct reaction to the word of the Council.

On the mini-constitutional committee, Hajo indicated that he will be among the 15 members of the mini-committee of the Syrian opposition, and they are pushing for a Kurdish representative in the mini-committee on civil society as well.

The Syrian Constitutional Committee held its second meeting on Thursday at the Palais des Nations in Geneva after the start of its work on Wednesday, under the auspices of the United Nations and its special envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen.

The committee consists of three equal parts, each with 50 representatives from the regime, opposition, and civil society. The 150 participants are expected to decide the fate of the constitutional projects to be drafted by the 45-member mini-committee.

The mini-committee was appointed of members of the Main Committee, comprising 15 people from each delegation, it is possible that the large Committee will hold its meetings simultaneously with the work of the mini-committee, or from time to time, with the progress of the mini-committee to discuss the proposals and approval.
