Mahmoud Mohammed Announces Imminent Meeting Between KDP and PUK
ARK News.. The spokesperson for the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has announced that an imminent meeting will be held between the KDP and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) to discuss outstanding differences and address points of disagreement through dialogue.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, August 29, 2026, KDP spokesperson Mahmoud Mohammed said that communication and reciprocal visits between the two parties are continuing. He added that other political parties have made significant and appreciated efforts to narrow differences and create the appropriate conditions for holding the meeting.
Mohammed stressed the need to swiftly reactivate the Kurdistan Parliament and move ahead with forming the new Kurdistan Regional Government cabinet as soon as possible.
“We support the activation of institutions and the formation of the government without delay, and we do not want to resort to other options or measures,” Mohammed said.
