ARK News: The final statement of the tripartite summit on Syria, in the Turkish capital Ankara, stressed "the preservation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and adhere to the principles of the United Nations."

The Turkish capital, Ankara, on Monday, hosted a tripartite summit brought together Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Russian Vladimir Putin, and Iranian Hasan Rouhani, to discuss the Syrian crisis.

"The three heads of state condemn the US decision regarding the Syrian Golan Heights, which violates international laws and threatens the security of the region," the final statement was conveyed.

The leaders of the tripartite summit also reaffirmed "that the Syrian crisis cannot be resolved by military means, and that the conflict must be resolved through the political process, led by the Syrians under the auspices of the United Nations."

In the final statement issued by the summit, the three countries affirmed "adherence to the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria," adding that "these principles must be adhered to by all parties and cannot be undermined by any actions."

The statement also stressed that "Israeli military strikes on Syria destabilize and violate the sovereignty of the state," and that "all lead to increased tension in the region."

The countries welcomed "the accession of Lebanon and Iraq to the process as observer states," while the three presidents agreed to hold the next tripartite summit in Tehran.
