First Jazeera Airways Flight from Kuwait Arrives at Deir Ez-Zour International Airport

ARK News.. The first flight operated by Kuwait-based Jazeera Airways from Kuwait City arrived at Deir Ez-Zour International Airport on Saturday, August 8, 2026, marking the launch of direct and scheduled air services between the two cities.

According to Syria’s official SANA news agency, the flight arrived at Deir Ez-Zour International Airport this morning, marking the beginning of regular direct flights connecting Kuwait City with Deir Ez-Zour.

Omar al-Husari, head of Syria’s General Authority for Civil Aviation and Air Transport, said the launch of Jazeera Airways’ direct flights between Kuwait and Deir Ez-Zour represents a new step toward restoring Deir Ez-Zour to the regional air transport network and strengthening the province’s links with its Arab surroundings.

Deir Ez-Zour International Airport was reopened on August 5. It received its first two flights operated by Syrian Airlines, one domestic flight from Damascus and another international flight from Kuwait, following a lengthy suspension of air services.

The resumption of direct international flights is expected to enhance Deir Ez-Zour’s connectivity with regional destinations and support the city’s broader transport and economic links.
