ARK News… Thirst is not just a word used to gain sympathy, but it is real and daily suffering that the people of Hasaka endure after cutting off the water from the city more than 20 days ago.

The phrase “The thirst suffocates Hasakah” spread on social media, about which some Hasakah residents say that it is “not just a hashtag or a phrase to gain sympathy. The water crisis in the city has reached the level of thirst that threatens the lives of a million people there, without exaggeration, after the closure of the Alok station, the only source of drinking water for the city of Hasaka and its countryside for the eighth time.

The price of a barrel of water (200 liters) that is sold through tankers is about 1,000 Syrian pounds, and the average employee's salary is estimated at 50 thousand Syrian pounds, and tanks that secure a part of the water do not fill a small part of the water need.

To solve the water crisis, it has been directed to dig surface wells in the villages surrounding the city, but the water of these wells is not suitable for drinking because it is mixed saline water polluted with sewage, and there are no other sources of water.

The calls were repeated repeatedly to cut off the water from the city, without any horizon in the solution, and that everyone’s talk now is about water, then the loaf and electricity, and there are many calls written and heard, but ... to no avail and without moving a finger .. all of it is ink on paper.
