Kurdistan Region President Receives German MP Sardar Yuksal

ARK News.. Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received Sardar Yuksal, a member of the German Bundestag, on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

During the meeting, President Nechirvan Barzani welcomed the visiting parliamentarian and expressed his deep appreciation for the continued support provided by the German government and parliament to the Kurdistan Region during difficult periods, particularly during the war against terrorism. He praised Yuksal’s efforts and active support for the Kurdistan Region in various fields, describing them as important and valuable.

For his part, Yuksea expressed his pleasure at meeting President Nechirvan Barzani and thanked him for the warm reception. He commended the Kurdistan Region president’s influential role at both the domestic and international levels in strengthening the position of the Kurdistan Region and promoting peace, reconciliation, and stability in the region.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the region, as well as ways to further develop Germany’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
