Meeting Held Between the Kurdistan Democratic Party–Syria and the Kurdish Democratic Progressive Party in Syria

ARK News.. A delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party–Syria (KDPS), headed by party secretary Mohammed Ismail, visited the office of the Kurdish Democratic Progressive Party in Syria in Qamishli on October 20, 2026.

The delegation was received by Dr. Salah Darwish, secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Progressive Party in Syria, along with several members of the party’s leadership.

The meeting addressed the latest political developments in Syria and the situation of the Kurds. The two sides also discussed preparations for the upcoming conference of the Kurdish National Council (KNC), stressing the importance of ensuring its success and strengthening its political and institutional role as a representative umbrella for Kurdish political forces.

The parties further discussed ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in a manner that serves the Kurdish cause and enhances joint coordination in addressing current political challenges. They also emphasized the need to activate the KNC’s role in Damascus.

Both sides underscored the importance of continuing regular meetings and strengthening channels of communication, consultation, and coordination to develop bilateral relations and serve the aspirations of the Kurdish people in Syria.
