Masrour Barzani Receives New EU Liaison Office Head in Erbil
ARK News.. Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Stefan Wendt, the new head of the European Union Liaison Office in Erbil, on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.
Barzani congratulated the EU official on assuming his new duties and wished him success, reaffirming the Kurdistan Regional Government’s full support for the successful completion of his mission.
For his part, Wendt stressed the importance of strengthening and deepening bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and the European Union.
The discussions also focused on reforms being implemented by the Kurdistan Regional Government across various sectors, as well as the overall situation and latest developments in Iraq and the wider region.
