Rubio: Russia and Ukraine Should Focus on Ending the War
ARK News.. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said during a visit to Uzbekistan that Russia and Ukraine should focus on ending their ongoing war.
Speaking to reporters during his visit on Monday, October 19, 2026, Rubio said there had been discussion of a possible meeting involving Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“I don’t know whether it has been finalized, but the president has been clear. He wants to end the war between Ukraine and Russia,” Rubio said.
“We see no good coming from this war. We see many negative consequences, including the real risk of escalation and the conflict spreading to another country because of a failed sabotage attack or drones being electronically jammed and straying into a neighboring country,” he added.
