Syria Seizes 2.2 Million Captagon Pills in 15 Days
ARK News.. The Anti-Narcotics Department at Syria’s Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that it had seized 2.2 million Captagon pills across Syria during the first half of October.
In a statement, the department said the seizures were the result of 15 days of operations against drug trafficking. According to data published in infographic form, the operations took place in the governorates of Rural Damascus, Homs, Deir Ez-Zour, Raqqa, and Hasaka.
The data also showed that authorities had foiled three drug-smuggling attempts during October at the Nasib and Jdeidet Yabous border crossings.
In addition to Captagon pills, the department seized other substances, including hashish, marijuana, Zerlarm pills, and crystal methamphetamine.
The department also said it had intercepted shipments of narcotics originating in Lebanon, as well as others being transported from Syria toward Gulf countries.
