60 Million Barrels of Oil Flow Through Strait of Hormuz
ARK News.. US officials said around 60 million barrels of crude oil have flowed through the Strait of Hormuz over the past 72 hours, while confirming that indirect negotiations between Washington and Tehran are continuing and describing the talks as moving along a “positive and constructive” path.
The Axios news website quoted US officials as saying that Washington had formally informed Iran, through ongoing channels and negotiations, that Tehran does not have absolute control over the Strait of Hormuz and has no legal or international right to impose restrictions or conditions on maritime navigation and trade through the strategic waterway.
According to the source, a senior US administration official confirmed that direct and indirect talks between the United States and Iran, conducted through intermediaries, are progressing in a positive direction.
The official described the discussions as constructive, amid continued efforts to ensure freedom of navigation and ease tensions in the region.
