US Sends Teams Worldwide to Push for Economic Isolation of Iran
ARK News.. The US Treasury secretary said he has sent teams to various parts of the world to encourage measures aimed at economically isolating Iran, welcoming a series of decisions targeting Iranian banks and airlines.
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a post on X that several countries had suspended flights operated by the Iranian private airline Mahan Air, while the United Arab Emirates had banned all flights operated by Iranian airlines.
The US Treasury secretary also highlighted measures targeting Iranian banks, saying that “even Iran’s leadership has acknowledged the economic consequences of the war, as the rail has fallen to record lows.”
The development comes amid sanctions announced by the US Treasury Department on September 8 against 36 entities linked to Iran’s aviation sector, including 27 airlines.
