Iranian Interior Minister Visits Pakistan Carrying a Message from President Pezeshkian
ARK News.. A source at Pakistan's Ministry of Interior said that Iranian Interior Minister Iskandar Momani is expected to arrive in Islamabad on the evening of Monday, July 20, 2026, as direct military confrontations between the United States and Iran continue for the ninth consecutive day.
According to Iranian media, Momani is carrying a message from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian concerning the latest developments. The visit comes as Pakistan continues its mediation efforts between Washington and Tehran, particularly following the collapse of the temporary ceasefire arrangement reached in June.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismaeel Baghaei said during a press conference in Tehran that diplomatic contacts with Washington, through intermediaries, remain ongoing despite the U.S. military strikes.
"We have been informed through mediators and have received messages. Without going into details, the important point is that the diplomatic apparatus has been active in recent days, and proposals have been conveyed to us through several intermediaries," Baghaei said.
He also stated that Iran expects the IAEA Board of Governors and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, who regularly comment on Iran's nuclear program, to clearly condemn what he described as the crime committed by the United States.
