Iran Suspends Retaliatory Attacks on Gulf States
ARK News.. Iran announced the suspension of its retaliatory attacks against Gulf countries following the halt of U.S. airstrikes.
Iranian military spokesperson Mohammad Akrami Nia said on July 26, 2026, that "the Americans have halted their attacks over the past two nights, and since our strategy is fundamentally based on reciprocal action, we have also suspended our retaliatory operations."
A U.S. official at the Department of Defense (Pentagon) had earlier confirmed that military operations against Iran had been suspended, without providing further details.
According to preliminary assessments, U.S. President Donald Trump made the decision during a meeting with his senior advisers on Friday, where options for expanding military operations against Iran were under discussion as part of efforts to pressure Tehran to return to the negotiating table under Washington's terms.
