Masrour Barzani Receives South Korea's New Consul General to the Kurdistan Region

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received the newly appointed Consul General of the Republic of Korea to the Kurdistan Region, Eun Kyu Shim, on Monday, July 27, 2026.
At the outset of the meeting, Barzani congratulated the new consul general on assuming his post and wished him success in carrying out his diplomatic responsibilities. He also reaffirmed the Kurdistan Regional Government's full support for his mission and pledged to facilitate the work of the South Korean consulate in the Region.
For his part, Consul General Shim expressed his pleasure at beginning his assignment in the Kurdistan Region, reaffirming his country's commitment to further strengthening and expanding bilateral relations with the Region across a wide range of fields.
