ARK News… In the presence of a large public, the Kurdish National Council in Syria and the Kurdistan Democratic Party-Syria today, Friday, 8/3/2024, commemorated the eleventh anniversary of the massacre in the village of “Burj Abdalo committed by PYD militants in the city of Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan.

Ahmed Hassan, head of the Afrin Locality of the Kurdish National Council in Syria, delivered a speech by the Kurdish National Council in Syria, in which he shed light on the events of the massacre, and stressed that this day will remain a day of history for the martyrs of the Kurdish flag who were martyred at the hands of agents of the enemies of the Kurds and Kurdistan.

For his part, Fawzi Ahmed, a member of the Area Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, delivered the party’s speech at the ceremony in which he stressed that their place is the highest paradise for the martyrs, and the Kurdistan people will remain loyal to the blood of their martyrs and the approach for which they were martyred.

Four Kurdish citizens were martyred in the Burj Abdalo massacre by PYD gunmen, namely the elderly Abdo Jammu Hassan, Alaa Khalil Hassan, and the child Ammar Nabo Hassan, in addition to Kawa Khaled Hussein, who was martyred about four months after being wounded from his wounds.

The massacre was committed against the people of the village because the Syrian regime did not want the Kurdistan flag to fly in the sky of the Kurdish villages, towns and regions, nor did it carry out in any activity and effectiveness against it, and because the people of the village were Kurds and did not follow the thought and doctrine of the PKK, as the Kurdistan flag was flying in the sky of their village and they want to protect their village from any danger after two years have passed since the peaceful movement in Syria turned into a military movement and complete chaos in the Arab towns and villages adjacent to the village of Burj Abdalo.
