President Masoud Barzani Receives Philippine Ambassador to Iraq
ARK News.. President Masoud Barzani received Charlie Bacana Manangan, the Philippine ambassador to Iraq, in Pirmam on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
During the meeting, the ambassador, who visited President Barzani in his capacity as a representative of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), expressed his pleasure at meeting him and his appreciation for the struggle and sacrifices of the people of Kurdistan.
The ambassador also briefed President Barzani on ASEAN’s history, its approach to international relations, and its economic potential. He conveyed the association’s desire to strengthen ties with the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
For his part, President Barzani warmly welcomed the Philippine ambassador and praised the efforts and struggles of Southeast Asian countries to achieve freedom, development, and economic prosperity.
The two sides also exchanged views on the threats posed by terrorism to regional and global security.
