Hazem Tahseen Beg Urges Yezidis to Participate Actively in Iraq’s Parliamentary Elections
ARK News.. The Prince of the Yezidi faith in Iraq and around the world, Hazem Tahseen Beg, stated that the genocide against the Yazidi people is still ongoing, calling on the Yezidi community to participate actively in the parliamentary elections to ensure the dignified return of citizens to Sinjar.
Speaking on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, after casting his vote in Sheikhan, Prince Hazem said: “Today is an important and historic day, as the genocide against the Yezidi community continues. Many Yazidis are still living in camps and under tents. Therefore, it is crucial to vote for candidates who genuinely strive to restore our rights, secure compensation for citizens, and provide services to Sinjar so that people can return home with dignity.”
He emphasized the importance of active and influential participation by voters in Nineveh Province to reclaim their rights.
Prince Hazem also addressed a message to the Yazidi community, urging everyone to: “Go to the polling stations today, and as President Barzani said, vote for those you believe in — vote for those who defend the rights of the Yazidi people, the land, and the homeland.”
In Nineveh’s electoral district, out of 34 parliamentary seats, one seat is allocated to the Yazidi component, one to the Christian component, and one to the Shabak community.
The total number of eligible voters in the Nineveh district is 1,969,179, who can cast their votes in 873 polling centers across 3,861 stations to elect their representatives in the sixth term of the Iraqi Parliament.
