Bakoura pointed out in statements that the new report issued by the Syrian Network for Human Rights about regime forces arresting a refugee who returned to areas under their control and torturing him to death “confirms the lack of appropriate conditions for the return of refugees before reaching a political solution that achieves political transition in accordance with international resolutions, first and foremost.” Resolutions 2118 and 2254.
Warning that "forcing Syrian refugees to return to regime-controlled areas will endanger their lives, whether by arrest, forced disappearance, or torture to death," and it is also "a violation of international law, resolutions, and norms related to refugee rights."

The network explained that Adham's family received news of his death in Sednaya Military Prison on November 14, unofficially, while they were trying to get an appointment for a visit without being able to receive his body.
