Masrour Barzani Holds Meeting with Ali Al-Zaidi in Baghdad

ARK News.. Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, met on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi as part of his current official visit to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

During the meeting, the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister congratulated the federal premier on assuming his duties, reaffirming the Kurdistan Regional Government’s support for the success of his cabinet in a way that serves all Iraqi citizens and components without discrimination.

Masrour Barzani also stressed the importance of resolving the outstanding issues between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government fundamentally and on the basis of the Iraqi Constitution, while respecting the federal entity of the Kurdistan Region.

For his part, the Iraqi prime minister expressed his pleasure at hosting the Kurdistan Region prime minister, stating, "We are all partners in this country, and our goal is to solve problems, reach agreements, and serve all citizens and components without discrimination.”

Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government in order to resolve outstanding issues and overcome the current obstacles and challenges.
