A student from Afrin wins first place in agricultural engineering at Salahuddin University

ARK News… After graduating from university, a refugee student from Syrian Kurdistan won first place in her class at Salahuddin University in Erbil, capital of the Kurdistan Region, for the academic year 2021.

The student, Dozgin Siyamand Brim, graduated from the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering - Department of Plant Protection - with first place in her class, after excelling in the four years of her studies at the college.

The Kurdish student, Dozgin, is a refugee from the village of Ma’mila of Rajo town of Afrin city in Syrian Kurdistan, fled with her family from Afrin to Erbil in 2015 and obtained a baccalaureate degree from the region's schools.

After the outbreak of war in Syria in 2011, tens of thousands of Kurdish families sought refuge in the Kurdistan Region, and the region allowed Kurdish students to complete their studies in schools and universities in Erbil, Sulaimaniyah, and Duhok.
