ARK News.. A new convoy carrying displaced residents of Afrin departed today from Qamishli and Hasaka toward their towns and villages in the Afrin region as part of the agreement signed between the Syrian government and the SDF.

According to the Hasaka Media Directorate, the convoy set off on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from the city of Qamishlo, carrying around 1,300 displaced Afrin families.

The operation is being supervised by the presidential team and the Internal Security Forces leadership in the provinces of Hasaka and Aleppo, accompanied by Syrian Civil Defense teams.

According to official statistics, the six return convoys have so far enabled the return of 5,200 families to Afrin from various areas since the implementation of the January 29 agreement between the Syrian government and the SDF.
