Spain: Europe will continue to support Ukraine no matter what price it will pay

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, on Saturday, July 1, 2023, announced in a speech to the Ukrainian Parliament on the occasion of the start of his country's presidency of the Council of the European Union, that "Europe will continue its support for Ukraine, regardless of the price it will pay for it."

Addressing the Ukrainian Parliament, Sanchez stated, "I wanted to tell you that we are with you and we will be with you for as long as possible. I wanted to tell you that we will support Ukraine no matter what price has to be paid."

On Ukraine's aspirations to join the European Union, Sanchez said: "No one deserves the status of a candidate more than Ukraine," but noted that "this is not an easy process, especially in the context of the ongoing war."

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that he arrived in Kiev, early on Saturday, for talks with Vladimir Zelensky, at a time when his country holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.

Sanchez posted on his official Twitter account: "In Kiev, I wanted the first chapter of the Spanish presidency of the Council of the European Union to take place in Ukraine," and added that he would express to her "the solidarity of all Europe."
