Austria awards Ph. D. to well-known Kurdish artist and musician Dilshad Saeed
ARKNews: The University of Mozart in Austrian city of Sausburg has awarded a PhD in Kurdish music to the well-known Kurdish musician and composer, Dilshad Saeed.
Dr. Dilshad received his doctorate for his thesis "Research in Kurmanji Music - Taking into account rhythmic songs, where he obtained after a thorough discussion of the search for a doctorate with a very good degree, officially from the University of Mozart.
The President of the University of Mozart made a speech at the ceremony awarded the doctorate of the famous Kurdish musician Dilshad Saeed, saying: Mr. Dilshad Saeed, you have completed your doctoral research, and besides your letter you have submitted a document proving that you can deal with scientific issues in an independent and complete manner.
The President of Mozart University: "In the difficult tests before the representatives of universities defended your message and the results of your work and showed everyone that you have great capabilities and wide knowledge in this area, and for these reasons you have been awarded a doctorate."

Dilshad born in 1958, he graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in 1977. He worked as a violinist and an orchestra assistant in the radio and television orchestra. In 1979, Saeed founded the Duhok musical group, which was characterized by its varied style, combining traditional Kurdish music with western style. In 1988 he obtained a master's degree in music from the University of Wales. On 19 June 2018, he received his doctorate in Kurmanji Kurdish music from the University of Mozart .
