ARK News... The Syrian Network for Human Rights in its report issued today said that 68 civilians were killed in Syria in April 2024, including 13 children, 3 women, and 9 people due to torture. It also documented five attacks on vital centers, including two schools.

The report recorded the killing of 68 civilians, including 13 children and 3 women (adult female), at the hands of the parties to the conflict and the controlling forces in Syria in April 2024, of whom the Syrian regime killed 11 civilians, including 4 children and 1 woman, and ISIS killed 1 civilian, and all armed opposition factions killed The National Army killed 1 civilian, while Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham killed 6 civilians, while the Syrian Democratic Forces killed 8 civilians. According to the report, 41 civilians, including 9 children and 2 women, were killed by other parties. The report documented the occurrence of one massacre in April at the hands of the parties to the conflict and the controlling forces in Syria, and the death toll of the victims of the massacres documented in April amounted to 7 children from one family.

The report stated that in 2024, victims continued to occur due to mines planted by parties that the report was unable to identify, bringing the total number of victims due to mines since the beginning of 2024 to 63 civilians, including 9 children and 14 women.

According to the report, the work team at the Syrian Network for Human Rights documented in April the killing of 9 people due to torture at the hands of the parties to the conflict and the controlling forces in Syria, including 2 at the hands of Syrian regime forces, 6 at the hands of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, and 1 at the hands of all armed opposition factions/the National Army.

The report also documented that the Syrian Network for Human Rights team documented at least 5 incidents of attacks on vital civilian centers, 4 of which were at the hands of Syrian regime forces and 1 at the hands of other parties. The report stated that all factions of the armed opposition/national army violated Security Council Resolution No. 2139 through attacks considered a violation of customary international humanitarian law, causing loss of civilian lives or causing accidental injuries to them.

The report called on the Security Council to take additional measures after the issuance of Resolution No. 2254, and stressed the necessity of referring the Syrian file to the International Criminal Court and holding all those involved in crimes against humanity and war crimes accountable.
