Adnan Mustafa: The will of the displaced Kurds is greater than the regime, the factions, and the PYD's obstruction of their return to the land of their fathers and grandfathers

Dec 20 2022

ARK News... Adnan Mustafa, a member of the advisory body of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, on Sunday, December 18, 2022, said that the return of the displaced Kurds from Afrin continues. Ninety percent of the displaced who returned to Afrin in Syrian Kurdistan have received their homes and properties, but there are cases of arrests of returnees. This repeated preamble and accusations against them must end.

The return continues

Mustafa said that the recently returned families returned from the al-Shahba camps and the Kurdistan Region, and arrived at their hometowns, in Afrin and its towns and villages. There are cases of arrests of returnees, and despite the fact that the regime, the PYD, and the armed factions have placed obstacles in front of the return of the displaced, the return continues, and the will of the Kurds is greater than their plans.

Excessive cutting

He continued: Unfortunately, both the militants of Samarqand, Al-Amshat, and Al-Hamzat, cut down trees continuously in the areas they control, under the pretext of generating income for the militants, especially since pensions have been stopped, and the cutting operations are taking place in full view of the competent authorities without being held accountable or prosecuted. In Afrin, one ton is sold for seventy US dollars, while in Idlib, the price reaches $150 per ton. It requires the Coalition and the Syrian government to end the unjust cuts and violations.

Armed phenomena
He pointed out that there is a statistic being conducted in Afrin so far, its aims have not been revealed, and the city center of Afrin has become devoid of armed phenomena, but the towns and villages are still crowded with armed phenomena. At the end of his speech, he said that compared to the previous period, arrests are decreasing, while logging is constantly and systematically increasing.
