President Barzani: The Peshmerga Represent the Highest Degree of Pride and Honor

Masoud Barzani delivered an emotional message through his official account on the platform X, commemorating the great sacrifices made by the Peshmerga forces throughout the Kurdish people's struggle, on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of his joining the ranks of the Peshmerga forces, which falls on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
The following is the full text of the message:
“Salute to the pure souls of the Peshmerga martyrs, whose sacred blood became the fuel of freedom and dignity for their people and who sacrificed their lives on this path.
Salute and deepest respect to all the heroes who chose the path of the Peshmerga and carry this sacred trust upon their shoulders. I kiss the forehead of every one of them.
The Peshmerga represent the highest degree of pride and honor.”
