ARK News: A member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria, Dr. Abdul Hakim Bashar said that the Kurdish population in northeastern Syria has become only 25% and this poses a great and significant danger to the existence of the Kurds.

In a public seminar in Hawler Kurdistan Region’s capital Bashar said: "What is happening in the north-east of Syria, and what is practiced by PYD is a very dangerous threat."

Bashar added: "The north-east of Syria is three provinces, namely Hasakah, Raqqa, and Deir Al-Zour, and the percentage of Kurds is only 25%, and if this case proved in reality, it poses a great danger and significant to the Kurds."

Bashar pointed out that the force and authority in those areas are now with the ruling of the Democratic Union Party, which controls, but at the same time the others are also their strong, and that "the control will come out of the hands of the Kurds, if we consider that the PYD is a Kurdish party."

Dr. Abdul Hakim Bashar talked about the dangers of lowing the percentage of Kurds to 25%, especially in the event of any referendum or elections, Kurds will be in the "margin" and the PYD has created to the Kurds in Syria many serious problems, including going to Manbij, Raqqa and Deir el-Zour, and created enmity between the Kurds and the Arabs and this "is not in the interest of the Kurds at all".
