A delegation from SYUDK-W visits the Minister of Education in the Kurdistan Region
ARK News: A delegation from the Kurdistan Region branch of the Students and Youth Union of Kurdistan Democratic - West paid a visit to the Minister of Education in the Kurdistan Region on Monday 16/09/2019, in order to offer him congratulations on his assumption of office and to present the problems that are facing students of Syrian Kurdistan in the schools of the Kurdistan Region.
The branch official, Ahmed Mohammed Amin, started to present the problems that students face in their studies in the schools of the region. Particular reference was made to a number of recent decisions that negatively affected the educational situation in Syrian Kurdistan in the schools of the region.
These points are: The subject of the language of the study, the issue of the ratification of pre-baccalaureate certificates at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus, the problem of baccalaureate students who were accepted on the basis of a personal commitment and is now required to provide certificates of tenth and eleventh grade certified, especially if they fail to secure it during this period which may lead to the denial of enrollment in the university this year, as well as the problem of students who have a high school diploma according to the system of free study in Syria.
The problem of students in the Peshmerga who wish to complete their studies also was presented as a barrier to this and many other points, and a letter was presented to him containing a detailed explanation of all the problems, along with photocopies of all negative decisions issued against the students of Syrian Kurdistan.
For his part, the minister appreciated the visit and expressed his surprise at the existence of some of those decisions and problems presented to the minister, stressing the need to follow up on them. Some of the urgent issues that we have focused on and stressed that postponement may harm some succeeded students in the baccalaureate exams this year.
In conclusion, the branch official expressed his gratitude to the Minister for his flexibility and a keen interest in the students' problems and his keenness to find ways to solve them and provide facilities in accordance with their situation.
