ARK News: The Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate (KJS) has received a statement addressed to it by the Kurdistan Foundation 24 regarding the cessation of self-administration in western Kurdistan for the work of the satellite channel without issuing an official statement banning the work of the channel a month after the decision to stop its activity, and sending verbal letters to the reporters of the Kurdish channel to stop work, and therefore to the decision of the Foundation's management to close its offices.

The continued self-administration authorities of harassment on the media in Syrian Kurdistan is an intent to strike the Kurdish media, especially since the Kurdish channel worked with great professionalism, without prejudice, and was conveying the news of our people in Syrian Kurdistan to go to the many followers, It also bravely covered the fronts of war and areas of tension in Afrin, Manbij and Baghouz, and the lives of some reporters were endangered, but they continued to work, and indeed Kurdistan 24 became official sources of media and international news agencies.

The self-administration is still working to narrow the media and journalistic work in Kurdistan Syria, contrary to the principles of freedom of the press and democratic principles, and this is not the first time that the closure of Kurdish media institutions and exile Kurdish journalists out of the country.

At the same time, the self-administration does not respect the media laws which it has issued and does not abide by international press freedom and media conventions and practices that do not serve the aspirations of the Kurdish people and the people of Syrian Kurdistan.

We at the Kurdistan Journalists Syndicate - Syria, at a time we strongly condemn and denounce banning the work of the Kurdistan 24 Foundation and demand self-administration to reverse these decisions and stop pursuing journalists and restricting their work, we declare our full solidarity with the staff and the Kurdistan 24 Foundation in Western Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Region.
