Afrin ... Igniting the flames of the bush of Mount Qaziqli

Aug 17 2019

ARK News: A Human Rights Organization working to document violations in the Kurdish region of Afrin reported on its main page of Facebook yesterday that the fire devoured on Friday 16/8/2019 the bushes of Mont Qaziqli of Jenderes town of the Kurdish region of Afrin.

The Human Rights Organization in Afrin said that the bushes surrounding the forest of Mont Qaziqli caught fire on Friday 16/08/2019 starting from the side of the village of Baziya of Jenderes town for unknown reasons so far, where flames devoured the large tracts of forest trees and olive groves.

The Organization noted that the same area had been set fires several times previously because of the presence of forcibly displaced people (settlers) and the chaos they made intentionally and with the lack of sense of responsibility towards forests.

It is worth mentioning that since the control of Turkey and the armed factions on Afrin on 18/3/2018 that looting, kidnapping, and murder are committed daily, in addition to deliberately set fire to forests and olive trees for trading firewood in most of the forests of Afrin, and that the main objective of these violations forcing indigenous Kurdish people to leave their homes in preparation for the demographic change.
