ARK News…The Kurdistan Writers Union of Syria called on the PYD administration to release Barzan Hussein, a member of its administrative board, and all the detainees in the prisons of the PYD administration. The federation published a statement saying:

For a decade, the Syrian Kurdistan Writers Union has continued its attempts to heal the rift between the discordant Kurdish political parties to find a common formula for struggle as an effective way to secure the rights of our people and miss the opportunity for the enemies to persist in their centuries-old injustice to date; And the Union continues to show its full readiness to play any mediation role in order to converge the views between the political parties and return to the negotiating table and put the interest of the Kurdish people above all other considerations, as it was surprised on 8-16-2023 (Tuesday afternoon) by the news of the arrest of a member of the administrative body Barzan Hussein was united by the Asayish of the Autonomous Administration in Girke Lage in an uncivilized and illegal manner and for flimsy reasons.

Colleague Barzan Hussein (Barzan Liyani) devoted most of his life to the service of Kurdish literature and is one of the staunch defenders of the unity of the Kurdish and literary movement.

We in the Kurdistan Writers Union of Syria, at a time when we condemn all forms of arrests and demand the immediate release of our colleague Barzan Hussein and all political detainees, we call for renouncing these actions that do not serve our Kurdish people and increase political differences and complications in these sensitive circumstances. Everyone, not isolation and extremism, in order to preserve the interests of the Kurdish people.
Once again, we affirm that there is no alternative to closing the ranks of the Kurdish movement, renouncing differences, and returning to the negotiating table and the language of dialogue to reach the desired goals.
