About 70,000 dعnums of wheat and barley were damaged by fires in the area

ARK News: According to the Directorate of Agriculture of the Syrian regime in Hasaka that the total cultivated area with wheat and barley, which is affected by the fires to date, amounted to 70 thousand dunums distributed throughout the province.

The Directorate pointed out that the amount of loss of wheat and barley due to fire estimated at 18 thousand tons, causing material losses to farmers explained, pointing out that the high temperatures and drought of the crops and the connection of cultivated areas with each other make the flames spread quickly and wide and come on large areas of agriculture before controlling and extinguishing.

A few days ago the wheat and barley harvest started in the areas of Kurdistan of Syria, in conjunction with the harvest processes, where the processes of burning crops expanded by unknown without any deterrent until today, putting agricultural processes and peasants in front of an unknown fate, in addition to heavy losses, from the low purchase price set by the PYD and the high costs of planting and harvesting to the burning processes, and according to statistics more than 25 thousand dunums have been affected so far as a result of burning processes.
