ARK News.. The Sari Kaniye Displaced Persons Committee has announced that the seventh return convoy for families displaced from the city of Sari Kaniye and its countryside will depart on Wednesday and Thursday, as part of ongoing efforts to facilitate the return of displaced people to their areas of origin.

Mustafa Abdi, a member of the Presidential Team for the Implementation of the January 29 Agreement, told Welat TV on Monday, November 2, that lists had been prepared containing the names of 847 displaced families from Sari Kaniye. Their return to their areas of origin in the city's countryside will take place in two trips, with the first scheduled to depart on Wednesday and the second on Thursday.

Abdi explained that efforts are continuing to accelerate the return of displaced families from Sari Kaniye and its villages, particularly those living in collective shelters in Hasaka and Qamishlo, as well as the Washokani and Serekaniye camps in the Hasaka countryside. He said the necessary measures were being completed to ensure the safety of return areas and remove landmines and explosive remnants of war that pose a threat to people's lives, in order to guarantee a safe return.

The first group of displaced families returned to the area last August. In total, nearly 3,000 families have returned through previous convoys, out of more than 12,000 displaced families.
