Iranian Negotiators Leave Doha as Draft Agreement Circulates
ARK News.. Iranian negotiators have left the Qatari capital, Doha, following talks with Qatari mediators on reaching an agreement to end the war between Iran and the United States. Their departure comes amid reports that a draft agreement proposal is being circulated and discussion of a possible follow-up meeting to continue the negotiations.
According to Reuters, a source familiar with the matter said on Monday, November 2, 2026, that the Iranian delegation’s departure on Sunday was not prompted by difficulties in the talks. The source added that a draft agreement proposal was currently being circulated but did not disclose its details.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei said the talks were based on a seven-point plan drawn up by Tehran last September. The plan aims to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the U.S. naval blockade imposed on Iran. He noted that Iran believed the plan could be implemented on a shorter timeline if an agreement were reached.
Baghaei stressed that no final agreement could be reached, nor could the Strait of Hormuz be reopened and secured, unless the U.S. naval blockade was lifted and Iran’s legitimate demands and needs were met.
These diplomatic efforts are taking place amid concerns that military escalation could resume following the U.S. midterm congressional elections, which begin tomorrow, Tuesday.
