More Than 300,000 People Displaced in Yemen as Fighting Intensifies
ARK News.. The United Nations announced on Sunday, November 1, 2026, that more than 300,000 people have been displaced in Yemen as fighting intensifies in the western part of the country. It noted that the vast majority of displacement cases were recorded over the past two months.
In a statement, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) called on all parties to the conflict to protect civilians and humanitarian workers and ensure that relief aid can reach those in need safely and without obstruction, particularly in hard-to-reach areas of Taiz Governorate.
“After years of conflict, families in Yemen are once again being forced to flee, often carrying nothing more than the clothes they are wearing,” said Abdul Sattar Isuif IOM’s Chief of Mission in Yemen.
Isuif added that displaced people were “in urgent need of shelter, food, safe drinking water, and healthcare.” He warned that without additional funding, thousands of families' risks of being deprived of essential, life-saving assistance.
