Oct 08 2026

ARK News.. U.S. officials said the Pentagon instructed U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) several days ago to complete preparations for resuming large-scale combat operations in Iran.

According to Axios, the instructions did not include a specific timeline for launching strikes, and U.S. President Donald Trump has not yet made any final decisions.

According to the report, U.S. and Israeli sources indicated that such a move could take place before the U.S. midterm elections, and possibly before the Israeli elections, which are scheduled to take place one week earlier.

The sources said that if major combat operations resume, they are expected to include intensive airstrikes against Iranian targets linked to the energy sector, infrastructure, and the nuclear program.

A Pentagon official told Axios: “The department’s mission is to prepare and present military options to the president.”

A White House official also said that all options remain available to Trump at any time.
