U.S. Forces Withdraw from Three Bases in Deir Ez-zour, Redeploy to Kurdish Areas in Hasaka
ARK News.. A well-informed source close to U.S. forces in Syria has revealed that the U.S. military has begun implementing a new redeployment strategy in recent days, with a focus on consolidating its presence in Kurdish-controlled areas of Hasaka province in northeastern Syria.
According to Shafaq News Agency, U.S. forces transferred heavy military equipment over the past two days via three convoys consisting of dozens of trucks and vehicles. These convoys moved from bases in Deir Ez-zour to sites in Hasaka, including al-Shaddadi, Tal Baydar, Qasrek, and Rmelan. Approximately 100 U.S. troops were also relocated as part of the operation.
The source noted that the redeployment also includes the transfer of advanced military systems, including radar equipment and missile launch platforms, from Deir Ez-zour bases to the new positions in Hasaka.
"The U.S. military has already started reducing the number of its bases in Syria, as part of an ongoing reassessment of its military presence in the country," the source added.
Among the bases vacated in Deir Ez-zour are the "Green Village" near the Conoco gas field and the "Euphrates Base" near the al-Omar oil field. A third location, also reportedly vacated, was not disclosed by the sources.
