The electricity crisis continues in the cities and towns of Syrian Kurdistan, and dozens of villages live in darkness
ARK News… In addition to other crises, the power outage crisis continues in the cities and towns of Syrian Kurdistan without any solutions on the horizon by the PYD administration.
Local sources from the city of Qamishlo in Syrian Kurdistan said that the continued power outage constituted an additional burden on citizens during the holy month of Ramadan, as national electricity is available for a few hours a day, and many of the city’s neighborhoods lack private generators (amperes).
Local sources confirmed that people who rely on their own generators are unable to secure diesel and gasoline due to their loss and high prices.
Despite the repeated calls of the people of the city of Kobani to increase the number of hours of electricity, especially in the holy month of Ramadan, the PYD administration does not pay attention to their calls, and national electricity is only available 4 hours every 24 hours in the city and its countryside.
In the city of Amouda in Syrian Kurdistan, citizens are suffering from an electricity crisis due to repeated artificial malfunctions of the “ampere” generator. According to local sources, about 20 days ago, the “ampere” generator stopped working due to the malfunctions.
Local media sources revealed that the Gujarat region has "more than 30" villages suffering from an ongoing electricity crisis, as they have been living in darkness for months, especially after gas, oil, and electricity facilities were out of service due to being targeted by Turkish aircraft.
Media sources confirmed earlier that the PYD administration is continuing its policy of cutting off electricity to cities and their countryside, because at the same time it is promoting with its merchants the purchase of solar panels among the people, and the price of one solar system that it is promoting ranges between 800 and 1,800 US dollars.
