Tehran Accuses IAEA of Politicizing Its Reports

Jun 06 2026

ARK News.. Tehran has accused the United Nations nuclear watchdog of politicizing its reports after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned that it has been unable to visit Iranian facilities to verify nuclear materials.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazhem Gharib Abadi said in remarks to Iranian media, cited by Reuters, that the agency should avoid turning technical reports into “tools of political pressure” if it wishes to contribute to a diplomatic solution.

Gharib Abadi added that the agency’s loss of access to monitor certain facilities was the result of attacks, rather than a lack of cooperation by Iran. He accused the IAEA of exploiting the consequences of U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear sites to create “ambiguity” surrounding Tehran’s nuclear program.

In a confidential report due to be discussed at a meeting of the IAEA Board of Governors next week, the agency warned that its inability to visit facilities and verify nuclear materials in Iran raises “nuclear proliferation concerns.” It also called on Tehran to cooperate with the agency in a “constructive manner,” according to France Press Agency (AFP) on Thursday.

The dispute comes amid continued international scrutiny of Iran’s nuclear activities and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing concerns over the country’s nuclear program.
