The Syrian regime agrees to extend the entry of aid through Bab al-Salama and al-Ra’i for a period of 3 months
ARK News... A spokesman for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said that the Assad regime extended its authorization to the United Nations to deliver humanitarian aid through the "Bab al-Salama and al-Ra'i" crossings north of Aleppo until November 13.
"We warmly welcome the extension of the permission by the Syrian government to use the Bab al-Salam and al-Ra’i crossings until November 13," said Eri Kaneko, noting that the Assad regime allowed the United Nations to use these two border crossings from Turkey to send aid after the earthquake, and the approval was scheduled to expire on the 13th. August.
The United Nations has been using the Bab al-Hawa crossing from Turkey to deliver aid to millions in northwest Syria since 2014, with a mandate from the UN Security Council. But that ended in mid-July after the 15-member body was unable to reach an agreement to extend it.
