ARK News: Today, 3. 11. 2018, marks the twenty-second anniversary of the martyrdom of former General Secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Party ( Party), Kamal Ahmed Darwish and a member of the Political Bureau of Kurdish Left Party, Ssiekhmous Yousif.

The martyr, Kamal Ahmed Darwish was born in the city of Sari Kanye in the province of Hasakah in 1939, began his studies in the schools of the province, especially in the city of Qamishlo, and completed the three stages of his primary, preparatory and secondary schools in the province to move after that to the University of Aleppo where he obtained the university degree in law.

He joined the Party in 1958 and was elected member of the Party's area committee in 1970. He was elected a member of the party's central committee in 1977. He was elected secretary-general of the party in 1979. He continued from 1995 until 1995, when he was unanimously elected Secretary-General of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria (Party) at the seventh conference which held in spring 1995.

Kamal Ahmed Darwish was one of the first who established the first Kurdish alliance in Syria, and he was also one of the first who sought to build the Kurdish Democratic Alliance in Syria. He was elected as a representative of the Party and of the Kurdish National Movement in Syria as a member of the Syrian People's Assembly.

Shiekhmuos Yousif was born in the village of Qatraniyah in 1948. He came from a farming family known for his authentic patriotism. He joined the Kurdish Left Party in 1965. He completed his secondary education in the schools of the governor of the island.
Shiekhmous was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Kurdish Left Party in 1987. In 1993 he was a member of the Political Bureau. He was one of the founders of the Kurdish Alliance. He was a member of the Supreme Committee of the Kurdish Democratic Alliance.

The two martyrs, Kamal Ahmed Darwish, and Sheikhemos Yousef were martyred in a tragic accident on the Hasaka-Qamishlo road on 3/11/1996 after their return from an official mission in Hasakah regarding the 1961 unjust statistics against the Kurdish people and depriving a large part of it of nationality. A burial in the cemetery of Qaduor Bag in the city of Qamishlo.
