SDF kidnap two children from Raqqa and Hasaka cities
ARK News.. The cities of Raqqa and Hasaka witnessed the kidnapping of two children by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and they were taken to recruitment camps.
The RASD Syria for Human Rights Network reported that on September 8 and 11, 2024, the kidnapping of two children by militants of the Revolutionary Youth Movement affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in cities of Raqqa and Hasaka.
According to the Network, the kidnapped children are:
- Khaled Mahmoud Al-Hamad (14 years old) from the village of Al-Romaniya in Raqqa Governorate, kidnapped on September 11, 2024.
- Ibrahim Khalil Al-Ibrahim (14 years old) from Hasaka city, kidnapped on September 8.
The Network added that the Syrian Democratic Forces took the two minor children to recruitment camps, and their fate remains unknown.
Despite the signing of an action plan by Mazloum Kobani, the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, with Virginia Gamba, the United Nations Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict, to end and prevent the recruitment of children under the age of 18 and their use in military operations, the involvement of minors in battles and their recruitment continues.
